Description of Arngill
Set at the head of Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Arngill Cottage was originally built as Mukers Wesleyan Chapel in 1845, converted into cottages in the 1940s and lovingly renovated over the last years, now offering a charming and well equipped character cottage. It has a stone flagged entrance hall, feature staircase curving to a balustrated landing on the first floor, solid oak floor boards, lime-washed walls, a large open plan living area with beamed ceiling, window seats, stone and lime rendered fireplace with wood-burning stove. The kitchen is stone flagged with vaulted ceiling, original, exposed beams and a hand crafted kitchen incorporating pine panelling from the original chapel. The cottage has gorgeous views over wild-flower meadows, Straw Beck flows right opposite the cottage. The historic landscape is rich in wildlife, rivers and waterfalls, ancient paths and tracks and an ideal base for a wide range of year round activities or just plain relaxing.
